Info
On November 10, 2026, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan brings his voice to Vancouver for a live night at the Orpheum, rooted in the qawwali lineage of the Fateh Ali Khan family. Raised in the Sufi devotional tradition and shaped by Hindustani classical technique, he’s known for stretching a phrase with slow-build improvisation, then landing it in a direct, song-first emotion.
His set moves between qawwali, ghazal and Sufi repertoire, with room for the more accessible formats he’s developed since the late 1990s. Many will recognize him from his long-running presence in South Asian film music, where his playback work made his voice widely familiar. Live, those influences fold back into the core: devotional poetry, call-and-response energy, and the kind of melodic intensity that turns a concert into a shared ritual rather than a simple singalong.
