Info
On December 19, 2026, in Calgary, CJAY 92’s Christmas Recital pairs two US rock mainstays on the same bill: P.O.D. and Buckcherry.
P.O.D. (Payable on Death) comes out of San Diego’s alternative metal scene with that signature crossover: heavy riffs, rap-rock cadence, and big melodic choruses that can flip into reggae-tinged ease. From the late-’90s breakthrough of The Fundamental Elements of Southtown to the arena-ready impact of Satellite, they’ve kept pushing their nu metal DNA through different eras, right up to Veritas.
Buckcherry, formed in Anaheim, brings a more straight-ahead hard rock charge, built on thick guitars and sticky hooks. Led by vocalist Josh Todd, the band moves between sleaze-rock swagger and modern punch, drawing from a catalog that runs from their 1999 debut through 15 and into more recent releases like Vol. 10 and Roar Like Thunder. Expect a night that leans loud, direct, and chorus-driven.
