Info
On May 7, 2027, at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Herb Alpert brings back the spirit of Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass for a night built around that unmistakable trumpet line and the bright, Latin-tinged pop that made his name. Expect the playful blend of Mexican brass-band colors, orchestral pop arrangements, and easy-listening swing that turned early classics into pop culture fixtures, from the era of “The Lonely Bull” to the world of Whipped Cream & Other Delights.
But this show also follows the full arc of an artist who never stayed in one lane: the smooth crossover moments where he stepped forward as a vocalist, the later turns toward jazz and light funk, and the sleek grooves that defined his late-’70s comeback with “Rise.” It’s less about nostalgia than about hearing how those melodic hooks, tight arrangements, and warm, open sound still land live—clean, direct, and instantly familiar.
