Info
In the continuation of her project Le Temps virtuose, the saxophonist and composer returns in 2026 with a new album. With Nouveaux Mondes (New Worlds), Sophie Alour shapes her pieces like a sequence of small ephemeral cathedrals designed to lift us above the clouds, far from the clamor of the world.
Born under the sign of dream, these pieces fuse the musician's influences, bringing pop and folk textures, electronic flashes or looping patterns, delicate orchestrations, and tempestuous convolutions to cohabit in the same sonic space, whether in calm skies or during storms. Far from demonstrations of force, Sophie Alour enriches her universe by adding voice and the synthesizer to her preferred sonic palette—cello and guitar—to embark on a journey toward dreams, in search of gentler worlds.
Ananda Brandao on drums and vocals, Pierre Tereygeol on guitar and vocals, and Tony Paeleman on synthesizer and arranged piano are the new arrivals on this crew alongside the faithful Pierre Perchaud on guitar and Guillaume Latil on cello. Sophie Alour will perform at New Morning on January 26, 2027 at 7:00 p.m.
