On October 18, 2026, BewhY will perform at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. The South Korean rapper broke through in the early 2010s with a technical, beat-tight style in which rapid flows and sharp tempo changes are central. In his tracks you hear contemporary hip-hop that he effortlessly threads along gospel influences, funk, and dark electronic textures, with lyrics that often weave personal and spiritual lines without sounding preachy.
Since his win on Show Me the Money 5 in 2016, he has been a fixture in the Korean scene, but his work continues to evolve: from the early energy of Time Travel to the more developed worlds on The Blind Star and The Movie Star, and the recent EPs in which he plays even more directly with sound and rhythm. Live, for BewhY, it's all about control and precision: tightly constructed beats, tense diction, and that sense that every bar is deliberately chosen.
