Info
On 10 April 2027, Extrawelt will take over the controls for 'Weltauswahl' at Ritter Butzke in Berlin—a night that centers entirely on the sound of the Hamburg duo Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Raabe. Having been on the road together since the late 1990s, with roots in psytrance, acid and progressive electronic music, they have, as Extrawelt, found their own approach to techno, minimal, electro and electronica: tracks that function more like small narratives, with tautly built tension, off-kilter, hook-laden melodies and occasionally darker textures.
'Weltauswahl' fits precisely with this signature style: not a blunt, relentless pounding, but a set that swings between live energy and club focus and brings together the many facets of their catalog—from the early maxis to the album era. Those who know Extrawelt know that it’s about details: precise rhythm, a willingness to experiment with unusual harmonies, and this typical blend of drive and head cinema that works especially well in the club.
