Info
Beth Orton comes to Knust in Hamburg on February 19, 2027, bringing exactly that sound that has hovered between intimate folk and an electronic edge since the 1990s. Her songs rely on acoustic guitars, restrained arrangements, and a voice that tends to hint rather than proclaim—together with productions that draw from downtempo, indie, and subtle synth textures, without blurring the core of the songwriting.
Those who first got to know her through early records like Trailer Park or Central Reservation will hear, in this set, the link between British folktronica and classic storytelling. At the same time, Orton embodies phases when she pulls back the electronic elements and reveals the song’s skeleton, only to later move again into more open, synth-driven spaces. Live, that translates to: finely balanced dynamics, clear melodies, abundant atmosphere—and a repertoire that moves organically through her different creative periods.
