Info
Beoga bring their modern take on Irish trad to Whelan’s in Dublin on December 12, 2026. Formed in 2002 and shaped as a tight ensemble ever since, the band works the classic building blocks of the repertoire, jigs, reels and airs, but with arrangements that feel composed rather than purely session-driven. Expect a set where the groove matters as much as the melody: accordion lines pushing forward, bodhrán patterns locking in, piano adding lift and space, and strings tying it all together.
Over the years, Beoga have opened their sound to contemporary writing without dropping the traditional core, moving from early releases like A Lovely Madness through later records such as Before We Change Our Mind, Carousel, and the Breathe EP. If you’ve caught their wider pop crossover moment via the songs they played on with Ed Sheeran, this show is the reminder of what sits underneath: a band rooted in Irish repertoire, played with precision, drive, and room to surprise.
