On November 25, 2026, at the MeM in Rennes, Hermanos Gutierrez is set to present their instrumental two-guitar music, carried by brothers Alejandro and Estevan Gutierrez. Their thing is dialogue: two lines that answer each other, brush past one another, overlap, and establish in a few notes an entire setting. You can hear a taste for slow-motion westerns, Latin American hues, a hint of mellowed surf, and a stripped-down Americana, all with simple melodies, measured tempos, and that reverb that lets every silence breathe.
On stage, the pieces take on a different dimension: less showmanship, more tension and nuance, like a soundtrack that is composed live. From 8 Años to El Bueno y El Malo, recorded with Dan Auerbach, the duo has refined a signature instantly recognizable. In Rennes, they mainly come to share this way of storytelling without words, with themes that linger in the mind and images that unfold by themselves.
