On February 20, 2027, YĪN YĪN will perform at Patronaat in Haarlem with their distinctive blend of psychedelic funk and global groove, built around the duo Kees Berkers and Yves Lennertz. What started with recordings outside the traditional studio setting quickly grew into a band that shines most in live performances: tight, repetitive and made to move. Expect basslines that linger, melodic guitars, and nods to Thai pop motifs, as showcased on The Rabbit That Hunts Tigers (2019). Since The Age of Aquarius (2022), the focus has shifted even more toward keyboards and synthetic textures, without letting go of the collective playing. In the venue, that translates into long, trance-like passages that gradually build and only release when the entire rhythm section breathes as one.
