On December 2, 2026, at 9-9bis in Oignies, Horace Andy lends his unique voice to a night tailored for lovers of roots reggae and heavy dub. Revealed at the end of the 1960s in Kingston, he has travelled through the eras without losing that smooth, instantly identifiable tenor timbre, capable of carrying a riddim towards late rocksteady as well as towards the depths of dub. On stage, the spirit of his great 1970s tracks is palpable, blending social chronicles, spiritual fervour, and bass lines that take centre stage. It is also an opportunity to measure how much his singing has ventured into other terrains, from the stripped-back productions of the 1980s to the bridges with Massive Attack, where his Jamaican phrasing has merged with more electronic textures. Backed by the Dub Asante Band and with the presence of the Matic Horns, Horace Andy promises a live, organic set, conceived for the stage: straight grooves, tense brass, and that unmistakable way of conveying emotion without embellishment.
