Squeeze returns to Paris on March 18, 2027, at the Bataclan, with this refined, nervy British pop that has built its reputation from London, where Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook launched the venture in 1974. On stage, the duo unfolds its art of storytelling in three minutes flat: ordinary characters, details of everyday English life, wry humor and small melancholic jabs, all carried by meticulously crafted melodies and a chorus that never lets go.
This concert is also an opportunity to revisit the songs that marked the late 70s and the 80s, from Cool for Cats to Up the Junction, not to forget the landmark albums such as East Side Story or Sweets from a Stranger. Despite breaks and lineup changes, Difford and Tilbrook remain the center of gravity: a close-knit writing partnership, a precise pop/new wave performance, and this way of keeping their repertoire alive without turning it into a museum piece.
