Alcest arrive at Electric Bristol on Wednesday 17 March 2027 with special guests Agriculture, for a night built on heavy music that refuses to stay in one mood. Led by Stéphane “Neige” Paut, Alcest have spent years shaping their own lane between black metal intensity and the hazy pull of shoegaze and post-rock. Expect the push and pull that made records like Écailles de Lune and Spiritual Instinct so gripping: saturated guitars, drifting atmospheres, clean melodies that suddenly give way to harsher edges, all aimed at taking you somewhere else for the length of a set.
Agriculture open the bill with a raw, searching kind of noise, drawing on Zen Buddhism, collapse, and ecstatic grief as heard on The Spiritual Sound. It’s not about easy catharsis or neat answers, more like standing right in the moment and letting the volume do the talking. Put together, it’s a double bill that leans into contrast: light and dark, blur and impact, tenderness and abrasion.
