Dent May comes to Berlin on 22 April 2027, to Kantine am Berghain, bringing this bittersweet indie pop that feels both light-footed and melancholic. The Mississippi-born songwriter, who now lives in Los Angeles, has been building for years his own cosmos of sleek melodies, retro-tinged arrangements, and a keen sense for pop details – sometimes with a psychedelic edge, sometimes closer to synth-pop, new wave, or indie rock.
With The Big One, May opens a new chapter: moving away from meticulously crafted bedroom pop toward spontaneous live sessions with a rotating circle of musicians from L.A., sustained by improvisation and chemistry.
