Los Angeles duo Monde UFO blend psychedelic folk, modal jazz, ambient and experimental pop into something otherworldly. Built around Ray Monde’s hypnotic organ, guitar and drum machine compositions, alongside Kris Chau’s singing bowls and vocals, their music draws on Sandy Bull, Don Cherry and Beat Happening to create a strange, dreamy space between jazz, folk and psychedelia.
Now a three-piece with drummer Kern Haug, Monde UFO have released two albums and signed to Fire Records in 2023, continuing to explore their blend of improvisation, simplicity and cosmic experimentation.
