Weezer arrives in Birmingham on May 21, 2027, for a set built on that unmistakable mix of crunchy guitars, power-pop hooks and self-deprecating storytelling. Formed in Los Angeles around Rivers Cuomo, the band has spent decades bouncing between bright, instantly catchy anthems and more raw, introspective turns. Expect the classics from the Blue Album era to brush up against the sharper edges of Pinkerton, with room for later chapters that keep their alt-rock DNA intact, from the tighter, punchier 2000s records to the more recent, concept-leaning projects.
Taking Back Sunday joins the bill, bringing their Long Island emo and post-hardcore roots into a live setting made for big singalongs and sudden surges of intensity. Led by Adam Lazzara, and strengthened again by the return of key members in the 2010s, the group moves between nervous riffs, melodic lift and those call-and-response vocal lines that defined their early 2000s breakthrough.
