Since 2004, This Will Destroy You have carved out a niche in American instrumental post-rock. Born in San Marcos, Texas, the band constructs instrumental pieces where everything hinges on tension, texture, and dynamics: guitars stack on top of one another, ambient swaths close to drone, long crescendos followed by a sharp release. A distinctly 'inner cinema' approach to writing, inviting each listener to conjure their own images. From the initial impact of Young Mountain to the 2008 self-titled album, their sound has come to be defined by stark contrasts and restrained emotion, never demonstrative. Tunnel Blanket moves the needle toward darker, more stretched colors, while Another Language leans more toward melodic and layered textures. With New Others Part One and Part Two, the band has again fragmented its ideas, like two faces of the same landscape. On December 15, 2026, This Will Destroy You will perform at Gueulard Plus in Nilvange to bring to life this stage-ready instrumental rock: waves of volume, silences that count, and that sense of being traversed more than heard.
