For Gretchen’s 15th anniversary: La Hafla Weekender Day 1 takes place on 15 October 2026 at Gretchen in Berlin and centers on Acid Arab. The Paris-based duo of Guido Minisky and Hervé Carvalho has for years been merging club music with traditional sounds from North Africa and the Middle East, without making it overly cerebral: driving techno and acid grooves, punchy percussion, synth textures, and recurring vocals and melodies that stick with you. Live, their set thrives on this blend of clear dancefloor energy and open musical influences, often sustained by collaborations and instruments drawn from different scenes. Acid Arab play the tension between raw beat and warm, organic details, drawing a line from Paris to the clubs around the Mediterranean. An evening that relies less on show than on movement, rhythm, and that particular pull when electronic tracks suddenly seem to mean more than just machines.
