Hazlett will perform live on October 15, 2026, at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver. Born in Brisbane and based in Stockholm, the singer-songwriter develops a contemporary indie folk with pop contours, driven by deeply introspective writing and melodies that linger in the mind without being overdone. His music moves toward the essentials: acoustic guitar, understated arrangements, a voice in the foreground, and just enough subtle textures to let the music breathe. With the EP Thundering Hopes (2020), the project found its balance between melancholic ballads, supple rhythms, and light electronic nuances. His album Bloom Mountain (2023, Nettwerk) broadens the palette further, moving toward a more expansive alternative pop, playing on contrasts between hushed atmospheres and brighter moments. On stage, one finds what makes him compelling: songs that speak of doubt, nostalgia, and intimate bonds, with a keen sense of detail and silence that matters as much as the words.
