On 19 March 2027, Curtis Stigers brings his voice-and-tenor-sax double act to Ulster Hall in Belfast. Boise-born and New York–seasoned, Stigers first broke through in the early 90s with a pop-soul, adult-contemporary touch before gradually leaning into jazz, without ever dropping the blues and rock edges he picked up in clubs.
Live, he moves easily between intimate ballads, jazz standards and smart pop covers, with that conversational phrasing that makes a lyric land, then answers it with a sax line instead of a big speech. His career traces that shift in real time: from the self-titled debut (1991) and “I Wonder Why” to a more stripped, vocal-jazz format on albums like Secret Heart and You Inspire Me, and later projects that nod to classic songbooks, including One More For The Road with the Danish Radio Big Band.
