Malevolence lands in Calgary on August 18, 2026 at Dickens with its blazing blend of hardcore and metalcore, fueled by heavy, syncopated riffs and that mid-tempo groove that recalls 90s US metal. Formed in Sheffield in the early 2010s, the band built its reputation on the road, touring relentlessly and playing clubs, with largely screamed vocals, sometimes pierced by catchier melodic hooks. From Reign of Suffering to Self Supremacy, then the EP The Other Side and Malicious Intent, Malevolence has refined a more structured writing without losing the impact: tight breakdowns, nerve-wracking build-ups, choruses that stick in your head when the pressure subsides.
Alongside them, Serration and awaywithroses complete the bill with a metalcore approach rooted in the Canadian scene: taut guitars, square rhythms, and direct energy, perfect to raise the temperature before the English act's set.
