Info

On November 19, 2026, The Bones of J.R. Jones takes the stage at The Great Hall in Toronto. Behind that name is Jonathon Linaberry, a musician raised in northern New York State and now based in the Catskills, who has been delivering a folk-blues rooted in Americana since the early 2010s. In one-man-band mode, he weaves together vocals, guitar, banjo and minimalist percussion around stories of roads, landscapes and introspection, with that blend of roughness and precision that sits with both acoustic ballads and somewhat more electric tracks. From Dark Was the Yearling to Slow Lightning, his writing has tightened without losing that taste for imagery and atmosphere, straddling rural and contemporary.

Chris Kasper opens the show. Based near Philadelphia, he has, since the 2000s, wandered between Americana, country blues, indie folk and old-school rock, with direct, melodic songwriting. His albums, from Bagabones to Sunlight in an Empty Room, chart the arc of a guitarist-singer devoted to arrangements and storytelling, seasoned at folk stages and club formats.
