Hayden Thorpe performs the Wild Beasts repertoire for the first time in nearly nine years at La Boule Noire. These concerts, performed entirely solo, will offer an exploration of this repertoire in its purest form: voice and instrument, as the songs were originally composed.
"I am fortunate, in my daily life, to frequently cross paths with kindred spirits who tell me how much a particular song, album, or Wild Beasts concert has mattered to them. I have learned that, over time, the bonds of the heart do not fade and that the power of music remains intact.
These songs I've missed; the moment therefore seemed ideal to reach for the high notes and to call upon the muscular memory of my hands. It's a loop that comes full circle, these dates coinciding with the twentieth anniversary of the release of Wild Beasts' first single, "Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyants."
The choice of venues has also been carefully considered. Each of these places has played a key role in the band's history: Brewery Arts was our cultural HQ when we were growing up in Kendal, Hoxton Hall hosted the revealing concert of our second album "Two Dancers," and the Brudenell Social Club will forever be the place where we grew as musicians.
