Gyasi (USA)
In many ways, Gyasi seems to come from another planet, and not only because he was raised in the woods of a West Virginia hamlet by bohemian parents. After making a name for himself in Nashville thanks to his blistering riffs, catchy choruses, and incendiary live performances propelled by a magnetic and theatrical stage presence, Gyasi self-produced and recorded on tape in his home studio his first album for Alive Records, Pronounced Jah-See, and proves, thanks to his talents as a songwriter, producer and guitarist, that rock ’n’ roll still has bright days ahead. His music can be described as a blend of the early work of David Bowie and Marc Bolan, but through a vision that is his own. Currently based in Nashville, Gyasi has been supported by rock figures as diverse as Rodney Bingenheimer and Henry Rollins. If you like: David Bowie / The Struts / Beach House.
Soft Palms (USA)
Soft Palms is the immersive dream-pop project of Julia Kugel and Scott Montoya, a Long Beach-based duo who craft expansive, hypnotic soundscapes from the comfort of their home studio, the Center of Mental Arts (COMA). Blending the warmth of lo-fi with textural sophistication, Soft Palms evokes the feeling of a lucid dream recorded on analog tape, at once meditative, cinematic, and deeply human. In 2026, Soft Palms returns with its most ambitious work to date: In Echo (Everloving Records). Written and recorded at COMA, the album leans on the band's characteristic atmosphere while diving deeper into layered introspection, sonic vulnerability, and cosmic repetition. If you like: Beach House / Mazzy Star / Slowdive.
