Delicious. A small, humorous glossary of pleasures to put in everyone's hands.
A Franco-Portuguese journalist, humorist, and videographer, David Castello-Lopes has long been active on Arte as well as France Inter, bringing his laid-back charm to short, highly visual and humorous formats. After his first one-man show titled Authentique, he returns to the Toboggan with a family-friendly show that playfully explores the complexity of human pleasure.
“I almost named this show The Pleasure,” the comedian confides, “and then I told myself that the only pleasures one would think of when faced with a title like that would be pleasures forbidden to those under 18. Yet, for financial reasons, I want under-18s to be able to attend my show as well. So I named it Delicious. In an hour and fifteen minutes, I will attempt to untangle the complexity of what provokes pleasure in human beings. Of course, pleasure can come from a glass of Chasselas that you let linger by the lakeside in spring. But it can also be triggered by the death of someone you don’t love. Of course an unexpected promotion within the company can provoke joy. My aim is that this show provokes in you a certain pleasure, in a self-referential moment of eating Gruyère cheese in Gruyères... ”
