Flora Hibberd’s songs resemble meticulously crafted tapestries. Drawing inspiration from rock and synth-pop as well as seventeenth-century folk songs, yet always anchored in indie-folk, her music is as mundane as it is cosmic, pulsing with surrealist allusions and raw emotions. Her debut album, "Swirl", earned her praise last year, and the new "Mammoth" sounds like a fulfilled promise. Produced by Ben Lanz of The National, it’s stranger and bolder than the 2025 album, populated by ghosts of history and prehistory who roam the present and face the future head-on.
