Julia Jacklin returns to performing solo for a live show followed by a signing session, on the occasion of the release of her new album The Gem, due for release via the 4AD label. On July 3, 2026, she will perform at Rough Trade Nottingham, in this pared-down format that foregrounds her voice and writing.
Born in the Blue Mountains and having come through the Sydney scene, Jacklin has established herself, album after album, with a stripped-back indie folk and rock sound where storytelling matters as much as silence. From Don't Let the Kids Win to Crushing, then Pre Pleasure, she moves forward without detours, between straightforward melodies and taut guitars, while maintaining that attention to detail that makes her songs so close to everyday life. On stage, solo, everything hinges on intimacy: a direct presence, lyrics that cut straight, and that knack for saying a lot with very little.
