On November 8, 2026, Alabama 3 lands at P J Molloy & Sons in Dunfermline with its own distinctive blend, born in south London in the mid-1990s. Originally, Rob Spragg and Jake Black met in the Peckham rave scene and started a project that fearlessly mingles country, blues and gospel with acid house, electronic music, and hints of trip-hop. The result: a hybrid, sultry and taut sound, where guitars and harmonica rub shoulders with programmed rhythms, and a Southern-influenced sensibility reimagined in a distinctly British style. Spotted as early as Exile on Coldharbour Lane, the band has continued to mine this vein across a dense discography, up to Step 13. And inevitably, it's hard not to think of Woke Up This Morning, which became world-famous thanks to its use as the Sopranos' theme. Since Jake Black's passing in 2019, Alabama 3 has continued the journey around Rob Spragg, led by an expanded collective and the same desire to blur boundaries.
