Perfume Genius, Mike Hadreas's project, returns to the stage with 'The Lesson,' a creation conceived at the crossroads of concert and contemporary dance. Born in Iowa and based in Seattle, Hadreas has established himself since the late 2000s with a writing that navigates between indie pop, art pop, and piano ballads, always attentive to details and silences. From the purity of Learning to the more expansive arrangements of No Shape, passing through the more rock-inflected tensions of Too Bright, he has built a discography that transforms without losing its unflinching intimacy.
With choreographer Kate Wallich, who was already behind the project that fed Ugly Season, Perfume Genius stretches his tracks, plays with textures, and lets movement take a central place. The themes that run through his songs — the body, queer identity, relationships — find here another ground, more physical, more immediate. Join us on March 24, 2027 at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht for this hybrid performance where pop meets the contemporary stage.
