Joy Anonymous is the London-based duo formed by Henry Counsell and Louis Curran, straddling house, UK garage, breakbeat and pop, with a real obsession for live performance and for what the crowd feeds back in real time. They were revealed in the early 2020s with improvised outdoor performances on the South Bank, and they have kept from that period a very direct way of building a set: mobile basslines, nerve-tinged rhythms, catchy hooks that grab you without breaking the club's momentum.
Their music plays on the balance between tension and release, collective ascent and more restrained moments, in a writing that blends rave energy with a more melodic sensibility. After connections and appearances alongside artists such as Fred again.., Skrillex, The Blessed Madonna or Eliza Rose, they continue this trajectory with Cult Classics (2023), conceived as an assemblage of references and textures sourced from the London electronic scene. They will be performing on September 4, 2026 at RUST in Copenhagen.
