On January 24, 2027, Biga Ranx will perform at the Knust in Hamburg. Behind the name lies Gabriel Piotrowski from Tours, born in 1988, who grew up with reggae and dancehall from the start, keeping an open ear for hip-hop. His influences range from Jamaican voices such as Alton Ellis to Vybz Kartel, plus the energy of the US rap scene — precisely from this mix he builds his own sound, between heavy basslines, laid-back flows, and melodic hooks. From an early age, he not only wrote songs but also lived the sound-system culture: in 2004 he founded his own sound system, toured France as a DJ, and formed the Mus Bus project with Governor General Rugged. By 2008 at the latest, when a video with Joseph Cotton circulated widely, his international path continued — through DJ sets, concerts, and releases. With the debut album On Time (2011), he cemented his style, before following up in 2013 with Good Morning Midnight. In Hamburg, this blend of reggae, dancehall and hip-hop is at the center: direct, versatile, no frills.
