Saxon will be performing in concert on February 20, 2027 at the O2 City Hall Newcastle, in Newcastle upon Tyne. Led by the voice of Biff Byford, the English band remains one of the defining faces of the NWOBHM, with heavy metal forged from straightforward riffs, solid rhythms and a chorus that sticks with you. From Wheels of Steel to Denim and Leather, Saxon has established a direct sound, anchored in the imagery of motorcycles, the everyday life of the working class, and stories of history and war, without losing their taste for melody.
Over the decades, the band has continued to move forward without renouncing its backbone, between the momentum of Power & the Glory, the more epic tones of Crusader, and the return to the bare bones on Solid Ball of Rock. Still active, Saxon continues to populate its discography with recent albums such as Carpe Diem (2022) and Hell, Fire and Damnation (2024). On stage, it’s an opportunity to revisit this blend of classics and newer tracks, carried by the energy of a road-tested band.
