Takuya Nakamura brings his jazz, jungle, and electronic sound to Village Studios on September 5 for an early show. Originally from Tokyo, the New York-based trumpeter and DJ trained under jazz theorist George Russell at the New England Conservatory before becoming a fixture in NYC's jazz and jungle scene in the mid-90s. A member of acts like Jojo Mayer's Nerve and CocoRosie, he's also lent his sound to work with artists like Quincy Jones, David Byrne, and Arto Lindsay. His recent work fuses jazz theory with electronic production.
