Born near Bern, Stephan Eicher has forged his career beyond labels, moving from punk and new wave to an open pop songwriting nourished by electronic, rock and folk. He cut his teeth at the end of the 1970s with Noise Boys, then marked the early 1980s as a member of Grauzone, a pioneering techno-punk project. As a solo artist, he subsequently traverses several languages and moods, producing albums that have become milestones such as Les Chansons bleues, I Tell This Night, Silence, Engelberg and Carcassonne.
On stage, Eicher keeps his appetite for movement: a direct way of bringing songs to life, playing with textures and leaving room for the intimate, sometimes in more theatrical formats such as Seul en scène, staged by François Gremaud. His new album, Poussière d’Or, announced for 28 November 2025, continues in this vein. See him in concert on 10 October 2026 at the Pasino Partouche Grande Motte in La Grande Motte.
