Graveyard, formed in Gothenburg in 2006, shape a heavy, blues-laced rock that leans on 70s grit without feeling stuck in the past. Thick guitars, a lived-in voice up front, and a raw, organic pulse anchor songs that move from slow-burn tension to straight-ahead drive. From Hisingen Blues and Lights Out to Innocence & Decadence and Peace, the band has honed a balance between weight and melody, tightening the screws after a brief hiatus and line-up shifts. On stage, they keep it direct: riffs that hit, grooves that breathe, no gloss.
Blues Pills, born in Örebro in 2011, mix blues rock with soul, hard rock and a dose of psychedelia. Elin Larsson’s vocal power cuts through riff-heavy arrangements, trading grit and uplift in the same song. Their run from the self-titled debut to Lady in Gold, Holy Moly! and Birthday tracks a band that trims the excess while keeping a warm, analogue feel. Live, they lean into contrasts: fuzzed-out guitars, a supple rhythm section, and melodies that open up rather than overreach.
Two perspectives on blues-rooted rock, one darker and earthier, the other tinted with soul and psych, meeting under the same roof for a focused, high-voltage night.
