Arkells bring the Between Us Tour to The Fleece, Bristol on 30 September 2026. Formed in Hamilton, Ontario, the band has spent the past decade and a half shaping a versatile indie rock songbook where alt rock, pop rock and soul rub shoulders. From the guitar bite of Jackson Square to the synth-friendly turns of Michigan Left and High Noon, then the brassy lift of Rally Cry and the intimate songwriting of Laundry Pile, Arkells move with ease between big choruses, storytelling lyrics and a strong collective pulse. On stage, they draw from across their catalogue, switching from punchy riffs to keyboard textures and stripped-back moments, with a focus on songs built for voices raised together.
Phantom Planet join the bill from Los Angeles. Known for blending power-pop instincts with leaner garage-tinged rock, they broke through with The Guest in 2002 before toughening their sound on their 2004 self-titled album and Raise the Dead. After a long pause, the band returned with Devastator in 2020, adding new material to a set that moves between wired guitars and melodic refrains. Expect a run through their different eras, from the early Hollywood years to their latest tracks, delivered by a lineup anchored by Alex Greenwald, Sam Farrar and Darren Robinson.
