Arkells bring the Between Us Tour to Electric Brixton, London, on 2 October 2026, with a set that traces their path from Hamilton’s campus gigs to clubs, theaters and festivals across North America. Formed in the mid-2000s and led by Max Kerman, the Canadian quintet blends indie and alternative rock with pop instincts and a touch of soul. From the straight-ahead guitars and group vocals of Jackson Square to the more melodic, keyboard-friendly turns of Michigan Left and High Noon, the band has steadily widened its palette. Morning Report and Rally Cry folded in brass and R&B shades, while Campfire Chords stripped things back. Blink Once and Blink Twice multiplied collaborations, then Laundry Pile in 2023 refocused on songwriting. On stage, they move between choral rockers and lean, rhythmic grooves, carried by a collective dynamic.
Opening the night, Los Angeles outfit Phantom Planet retrace a catalogue built since 1994 around Alex Greenwald, Sam Farrar and Darren Robinson. First noticed with Phantom Planet Is Missing and The Guest, which housed California later adopted by the series The O.C., the group shifted toward a rawer garage bite on their self-titled album, then returned with Raise the Dead. After a pause, the band resurfaced with Devastator in 2020, balancing crisp guitars and melodic hooks. The current lineup includes Andrew Parker on drums, and they draw from across eras for a direct, melodic rock set.
