On September 30, 2026, Boy Harsher brings its shadowy pulse to MTELUS in Montréal. Formed by Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller after meeting in film school, the duo moves between darkwave, coldwave and electropop with austere drum patterns, taut synths and vocals that slip from spoken to sung. From the early EP Lesser Man to albums like Yr Body Is Nothing and Careful, then The Runner, a soundtrack tied to their short film, they’ve shaped a catalogue where image and sound feed each other, carried on stage by a lean, physical electronic setup.
Choir Boy opens a more luminous, melancholic vein. Based in Salt Lake City around singer and songwriter Adam Klopp, the band crafts synth-pop shaded by dream pop and soft-focus post-punk: vibrato-led vocals, melodic keyboards, clean guitars and unhurried rhythms. Passive With Desire and Gathering Swans sketch songs about memory and daily life, balancing bright textures with introspective writing.
Evanora Unlimited, the Oakland project of Orion Ohana, completes the bill with a multimedia, narrative angle. Between experimental electronics, industrial edges, dark ambient and club-adjacent beats, the performance folds in theatrical spoken passages and shifting personas drawn from an evolving sci-fi mythology, blurring the lines between concert, fiction and performance.
