Strawberry Guy

Strawberry Guy plays Manchester on 18 September 2026 at Band on the Wall. Welsh-born and Liverpool-based, Alexander Morgan Stephens shaped his solo project after a stint on keys with The Orielles, steering it toward an indie pop that blends bedroom intimacy, dreamlike textures and a light psych shimmer. On stage, his voice sits close to the microphone while keyboards carry slow-blooming melodies, letting the songs unfold with a calm pulse.

The set digs into early cuts from the EP Taking My Time to Be and the widely shared track Mrs Magic, then opens onto his 2021 album Sun Outside My Window, where lo-fi edges meet airy harmonies. He has also revisited parts of his catalog with the 2023 strings versions of F Song and Mrs Magic, a clue to the way he strips arrangements back to reveal the core of his writing. Live, expect a palette of synth warmth, hushed hooks and gentle swells, moving from pastel melancholy to clear-skied pop without losing the quiet glow that defines Strawberry Guy’s sound.
