Strawberry Guy

Welsh-born, Liverpool-based songwriter Alexander Morgan Stephens, aka Strawberry Guy, brings his hazy indie pop to Scala, London, on 20 September 2026. After a stint on keys with The Orielles, he launched this solo project in 2018, where bedroom pop drifts into dream and light psych. His early EP Taking My Time to Be (2019) set the tone, and Mrs Magic travelled widely online before catching on via TikTok. The debut album Sun Outside My Window (2021) sharpened the focus on voice and keyboard, with airy harmonies and a lo-fi patina that carries through his catalog.

On stage, Strawberry Guy leans into that intimate palette: supple keys, restrained rhythms and melodies that linger. The set moves between early cuts and album highlights, with the 2023 string versions of F Song and Mrs Magic opening a more stripped-back angle on familiar tracks. It’s a live format that favors space and detail, letting the arrangements unfold at a measured pace while keeping the songwriting front and center.
