Soulfly

Soulfly, the project led by Max Cavalera since 1997 after his departure from Sepultura, arrives at The Black Lab in Wasquehal on September 1, 2026. Formed in Phoenix but shaped by its founder’s Brazilian roots, the band has built a hybrid sound where groove metal, thrash, death and touches of nu metal mingle with tribal percussion and traditional influences. Heavy riffs, pounding tempos and more atmospheric passages form a signature that has spanned decades while remaining centered on rhythmic energy.

On tour in support of CHAMA, their thirteenth album, Soulfly digs deeper into the blend of tribal pulses and cutting guitars, with straightforward structures and a knack for repetitive motifs that call forth trance as much as tension. True to its variable-geometry approach, the band keeps Cavalera at the core of the project, between incantations, percussive breaks and thrash accelerations. On stage, the new songs converse with the group’s classics, reworked with a contemporary approach without losing the organic intensity that is Soulfly’s DNA.
