Anthony Kavanagh « Jet Lag »

Anthony Kavanagh returns with Jet Lag, a one-man show that examines the little misalignments of everyday life. Between Quebec and France, between languages and accents, he plays with cultural contrasts, the fast pace of the times, and those moments when we’re not quite in sync with the world around us. True to his way, he alternates high-energy stand-up with more reflective passages, slides from improv into impressions, and brings in music when it’s time to revive the groove. His sense of timing links it all: rapid-fire jokes, intimate asides, and that stage energy that turns an anecdote into a collective playground.

First revealed in the 1990s, Kavanagh has honed a direct, warm, and physical style. In Jet Lag he uses it to map our small desynchronizations: culture shocks, life online, accent-induced misunderstandings, good intentions and mix-ups that end in fits of laughter. A journey without luggage, where he crosses the border between laughter and reality with the relaxed ease of someone who has been through a lot.
