On July 30, 2026, at the Sunset Sunside, Anne Sila joins Alex Terrier’s quintet for a highly musical encounter between a voice of delicate precision and a saxophone nourished by swing and bop.
Trained at the conservatory and having passed through the New York scene before establishing herself in France, Anne Sila operates at the crossroads of French song, jazz and soul. Her clear singing, her sense of line and her understated songwriting naturally slip into an acoustic setting where listening takes precedence, sustained by the taste for melody that runs through her stage and recording projects.
Facing her is Alex Terrier, a Parisian saxophonist based in New York, who composes for and leads a quintet that enjoys weaving between tradition and contemporary forms. His playing, marked by the legacy of Ellington and bop as much as by a concern for harmony and orchestration, opens an interactive space for the musicians.
Together, Anne Sila’s voice and Alex Terrier’s phrasing intertwine, alternating finely sculpted themes and improvisations, in a dialogue where song brushes up against the language of jazz without losing sight of what matters: melody, rhythm, the instant.
