On April 17, 2027, MEUTE takes over Le Summum in Grenoble. Formed in Hamburg in 2015 around trumpeter Thomas Burhorn, the brass band brings together eleven musicians who transpose techno, house and deep house into acoustic performance, driven by a brass section and an arsenal of percussion. First revealed in 2016 with its reinterpretation of Âme’s “Rej,” the ensemble has developed a repertoire in which synth lines become trumpet and saxophone melodies, while the rhythm retains the repetitive pulse of dance.
On stage, MEUTE shapes buildups, breakdowns and ostinatos as in a club, but with the open sound of brass instruments. The set navigates between rearrangements of tracks from the electronic scene — think of revisited pieces by Laurent Garnier, Disclosure, Dennis Ferrer or Deadmau5 — and original compositions. After Tumult (2017) and the Live in Paris recording (2019), the group asserted its signature with Puls (2020), followed by Taumel (2022) and Empor (2024), milestones of a compositional voice now distinctly its own. From the street to large concert halls, MEUTE unfolds a techno-brass format that prioritizes collective energy and instrumental trance, without machines but with metronomic precision.
