Theory of a Deadman

Theory of a Deadman will play on February 16, 2027, at Melkweg in Amsterdam. Since 1999 the quartet from North Delta, Canada, has been crafting a sound rooted in post-grunge and hard rock: direct hooks, heavy riffs and choruses that linger, with excursions into alternative and pop rock and the occasional acoustic or country tint. Singer-guitarist Tyler Connolly fronts the band, one of the first acts on 604 Records, the label associated with Chad Kroeger, who co-produced their self-titled 2002 debut. That was followed by Gasoline (2005) and Scars & Souvenirs (2008), years in which the group graced North American stages both as headliners and alongside bands such as Nickelback, Breaking Benjamin, Mötley Crüe and Alter Bridge. With The Truth Is... (2011) and Savages (2014) the foundation remained rock, but the palette broadened. Wake Up Call (2017), recorded with Martin Terefe, marked a pop-rock turn and a brief shortening of the band’s name to Theory. Say Nothing (2020) turned its lyrical focus more toward social issues, after which Dinosaur (2023) brought the heavier material back to the fore. Live, the band presents a cross-section of that period, from raw guitar-driven songs to recent melodic tracks.
