RP3 — said like that, you might think of an airport terminal or an overweight suitcase. In reality, it’s the trio led by Rémi Panossian (piano), with Fred Petitprez (drums) and Maxime Delporte (bass), celebrating 15 years of musical camaraderie and releasing their 8th album: 88888888.

Since their beginnings these three friends have crisscrossed Asia, and it was in Korea that they set up their mics for this record. With culinary nods in the track titles — Hello Kimchi, Bibimbop — they infuse a country, a culture and a way of life into their jazz, far from their usual European habits.

But RP3 stays true to its recipe: a relaxed yet precise groove, a sound that breathes friendship, freedom and spontaneity. Each note fits together as if RP3 were no longer just a name but a three-part language, forged by two decades of shared music and life.

88888888 unfolds electro, funky and jungle interludes, as if to remind you that jazz is everywhere if you listen closely. The 8 becomes an infinite loop, a lucky charm or even a universal Wi‑Fi password (true story). The record offers both the joy of collective playing and the urge to explore new sonic territories.
