Skip the Use

Skip the Use arrives at the MeM in Rennes on March 6, 2027. Formed in Lille in 2007 around singer Matt Bastard, the band also brings together Yann Stefani, Jay Gimenez, Lio Rapsaert and Manamax Catteloin. From their self-produced debut album in 2009, they established a direct rock that blends punk energy, razor-sharp riffs and electro textures, driven by vocals sung mainly in English. The road did the rest: hundreds of shows that honed a precise collective interplay and a knack for hooks that hit the mark.

With Can Be Late in 2012, Skip the Use took a new step and the following year won the Victoire de la Musique for Rock Album. Since then, the quintet has continued to alternate new releases and tours, refining a straightforward sound — punchy basslines, razor‑sharp guitars and percussive breaks. In Rennes, the band promises a set that draws from all periods of its career, from songs forged for the stage to more synth-driven tracks, without detours or frills. A chance to rediscover the energy of a band seasoned in live performance, in the setting of the MeM.
