Billy Lockett: Stripped Back + Signing

Billy Lockett brings his songs back to their core with a stripped-back set and signing at Rough Trade Denmark Street in London on 24 May 2026. The Northampton-born singer, pianist and songwriter marks the release of his album Things Are Looking Up (Lockett Records) with an intimate performance built around piano, voice and straightforward storytelling.

Shaped on London’s open‑mic circuit, Lockett’s writing moves between pop, folk and modern soul, favouring space over gloss. His path has taken him from early BBC Radio 1 attention to opening slots for Birdy, Lana Del Rey, KT Tunstall, Lewis Capaldi and Electric Light Orchestra, widening his horizons without blurring his focus. A pause after his father’s death pushed him toward a more independent way of working, heard across EPs, singles and a solo piano project.
