The Smashing Pumpkins bring The Rats In A Cage Tour to Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary on November 4, 2026. Formed in Chicago by singer-guitarist Billy Corgan with guitarist James Iha, the band first took shape alongside bassist D’Arcy Wretzky and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. Their path runs from the serrated dynamics of Gish through the layered charge of Siamese Dream to the expansive sweep of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, followed by a split in 2000 and a mid-2000s return. Since then, albums like Zeitgeist and Oceania have pushed their sound into new territory.
On stage, the group moves between heavy riffs, gauzy textures and quieter detours, with Corgan’s voice and guitars at the center. This tour dives across eras, balancing signature tracks, deeper cuts and recent material, for a set that maps the band’s blend of tension, melody and volume without leaning on nostalgia.
