Blondshell brings the Scaring Strangers Tour to Théâtre Beanfield in Montréal on October 29, 2026. Behind the name is Los Angeles songwriter Sabrina Teitelbaum, who crafts direct, guitar-forward songs where indie rock, 90s alternative and traces of folk meet. After a first chapter under the alias BAUM with a more pop-leaning edge, she reset the course in 2022 with Olympus, Kiss City, Sepsis and Veronica Mars, then released a self-titled debut on Partisan in 2023. Her 2025 follow-up, If You Asked for a Picture, keeps the tension tight and the hooks unadorned, observing relationships with a clear, unflinching pen. On stage, Blondshell navigates between restraint and abrasion, letting riffs carry the weight while the words stay close to the bone, drawing from both albums and those early singles.
Also on the bill, Minneapolis outfit Prewn, led by Lily Konigsberg (Palberta), pushes a lo-fi, alternative sound built on nervy guitars, an angular rhythm section and melodic lines that tilt between intimacy and grit. Their 2023 album System plays with dynamics and sudden tempo shifts, moving from fragile ballads to more dissonant passages. Live, that push-and-pull sharpens the contours of the songs, with introspective lyrics threading through repetitive motifs and slightly off-kilter hooks, a focused counterpart to Blondshell’s taut rock textures.
